CLIENT SUCCESS STORY
"Melissa is the ideal yoga instructor for your corporate event. We hired Melissa for a 6 week yoga retreat for our clients. Our clients work in a high-stress industry, and it was imperative to provide a safe and soothing ambiance to have a successful retreat. Her thoroughness, calm voice and overall energy created the perfect ambiance for the 30 individuals that attended each week. The group appreciated her attention to individuals whether they were beginner, intermediate or advanced individuals."

QUICK FACTS:
A FEW THINGS ABOUT ME
I’m originally from the Midwest, born in Wisconsin and raised in Minnesota, and now based in Atlanta after years living and working in New York, San Francisco, and abroad in Asia.
My work is grounded in both lived experience and practice.
Yoga, meditation, and myofascial release have been foundational in helping me regulate stress, reconnect with my body, and build a more sustainable sense of calm.
I’m especially drawn to simple, accessible practices like Viparita Karani (legs up the wall) that meet you where you are and support real-life integration.
My approach is not about perfection or performance.
It’s about learning how to work with your body and nervous system in a way that supports clarity, steadiness, and resilience over time.
Outside of teaching, I’m also an editor and writer for Yoga Love Magazine- Digital, where I focus on thoughtful, inclusive storytelling in the wellness space.
Coronavirus
Vaccine Trial
I am beyond humbled.
In May 2020, I became the first person in the world to participate in the double-blind Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial at NYU Langone.
At a time of global uncertainty, this experience deepened my trust in science, resilience, and the role we each play in collective well-being.
I later learned I had received the vaccine and went on to participate in the booster study.
That moment continues to shape how I approach my work, grounded in evidence, integrity, and a belief that small actions can have far-reaching impact.

The time seemed to drag on. I couldn’t relax. I fidgeted and couldn’t sit completely still. Wasn’t that what I was supposed to do? I definitely cheated and peeked to see if my classmates were actually closing their eyes and “doing it”. Whatever that meant.
